The problem with with the f22 going to 9k has nothing to do with the valvetrain. The f22 head is actually better than the f20's. The bottom end is what we're discussing.

The discussion is about the motor swap in general.

And the vavletrain plays a huge role in going to 9k as well. Think about the retainers, rumored to be lighter.

Again all this is more of speculation on what the engine can and can't handle. What is important is the tune, and as anyone knows the tune MAKES OR BRAKES any car. There is just no denying this. Again ask ANY reputable tuner if he would switch tunes on his car, even if he kept the same redline.

Ap1 retainers are known to crack when over revved. Not the case with ap2's.

About as much as the front end on an AP1.

You are seriousely retarted? just because the ap2 has stronger retainers means the f22 head is so much better than the f20 is that why everyone and there grandmom is getting the ap1 intake cam and throwing it in the f22?? Take your 227 posts and GTFO untill you stop giving pple shitty advice.

You're right, you guys are so smart.. Because we weren't discussing the valvetrain possibly failing with the increase in rpm. BTW the ap1 retainer are a p.o.s. Cams are nice. Untill you drop a valve out of no where. Man how I would love to catch one of you pussies at a meet.....

if your not a dumbass and don't miss shifts causing your car to over rev you wont have to worry about retainers. I'm at 96k and my retainers are fine I checked them last time I did my valve adj. You have to filter everything you read jus cause some one said somthing on here or s2ki doesnt mean its true these sites are forums not s2000 bibles

I'm at 120k and mine are fine too. That doesn't mean they're good. That just means we know how to drive. Well I.. You're right.. 20 cases of cracked retainers later doesn't mean the ap1 has weak retainers..?!

I'm not disagreeing with you about the retainers just saying they are nothing to worry about if you don't overrev

seriousely I think If you dont own an s2k or dont know anyhting about it dont chime in. Theres is alot of " My friend has this and that and his car does this" or " I saw this kid at a meet and he said this" going around. If you have no personal experience then STFU.

that black s2k is right because the tranny on the ap2 is shorter than before
and the lsd is more beefed up by like 7%

My brother [miniwesta] has an AP1 with an AP2 motor running an 2001 AP1 ECU and he is a bad bad man.

Again, he is a BAD MAN.

Of course, he hasn't gone over 8500.

And once again, he is... A BAD MAN.
