Default Adding daytime running lights to an s2000

I sold an s2000 to a canadian customer. He needs to have daytime running lights to import the car. I can't seem to find anything that will work for this car. I used the designtech kit and it does not work with HIDs. If you have any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. -Jay-

Pegasus racing supply sells a LED-based driving light that should satisify your requirement.

I'm located in Canada. Personally, I hate DRL. To remove DRL, what I did was pull a fuse (10A or 15A, don't remember) out from, if I recall, the fusebox located beneath the steering wheel column. Maybe all the buyer has to do is put a fuse in that slot in that fusebox?

I guess it would be worth a try but I suspect a DRL control box would need to be installed in the electronics.

IIRC it may just be a relay that plugs into the fusebox.

buy a kit from canadian tire for 24.99...you can't follow the wiring diagram because the s2000 lights are hooked up in series...just use the lead that is suppose to go to the low beam by its self...do not hook up the signal light or the high beam lead...my suggestion is to hook it all up then disconnect it after the inspection..running the HID all the time is too expensive to have to replace...oh...green lead won't get activited by the spark plug wire...you need need another energy source..I am using the lead to the lighter to turn the unit on...

The life of HID capsules is like 5x that of a halogen bulb, I don't think it will be a problem.

Hi. I had to do the same thing myself, and went a bit farther and got something working that is very much like the factory Canadian DRL setup.

I've written up a short web blurb about it:
