thats besides the point, you can do that with almost any car. just buy a shitty domestic. with choosing bmw you know you are getting a comfortable, reliable (unless its mine) and unique driving experience. Mine is a 96 and still fun to drive...plus it gives me all the cool stuff that my pretty little honda doesnt....average mpg, average speed, outside temperature, stopwatch....and best of all POWER SEATS AND DOOR LOCKS. not only that but the top is 12 years old and does not have one defect. the s2k....**** is all falling apart. The s2k dings just from me looking at it the wrong way. the bmw is made out of steel, i can throw rocks and all kinds of **** at it

you most be smoking crack. Think about the cars in 10 years...The accord is going to look like poop while the bimmer will still look nice.

actually that may be true lol .. the sad thing about the 335i is that it looks just like a regular 3 series so its as common as the smog over here....

one good thing the E92 has going for it :D

id kill for a 335i. im not even close to considering one tho financially. if it seems logical for your money situation, the car is an amazing car, and id say go for it.

note: financially i cant consider one now, and im not the one having a kid ... might be good to save some money up instead

I'd go with a E46 M3 instead of the 335i. I owned a E36, and I loved it. My gf had a '05 E46, and it was amazing. The 335i is nice, but a M3 is well, an M3. It's nice to have stock twin turbos, but I think you would enjoy a M3 a lot more than a 335i.

the ppl that thing the 335i is a downgrade is nuts. they are rated at 300hp stock and with a few bolt ons that are making 350-4001whp. the interior is nicher.
sure a s2k handles better and maybe more fun to drive but the 335i is no downgrade.

i would keep the s2k and boost it but if you really can afford the bmw they get it. but i would get the 335 xi which is AWD

I switched from a S2000 to a 335i. Totally different cars when you are comparing price, amount of seats, or luxuries. Calling a 335i a low grade/ down grade? You got to be kidding me. Have you ever driven one? Tracked one? The handling is not as nimble as the S2000, but the handling is almost on par with the AP2. With a few suspension tweaks, the 335i is pretty sweet. On my few runs at SOW, don't think I had any problem passing AP1/AP2's on the turns and especially the straight aways.

I also had a E46 M3. I can pretty much say, going from the E46 M3 to the 335i, no regrets here. The e92 is so much easier to MOD for less, plus the M3 is looking a little dated.

On my 335i coupe. I installed the Vishnu Procede V2, Vishnu Catback, and Catted DPs. Dyno tuned at 386whp/390lbft, running on 14.8 psi. Still need to install my I/C. I've got KW V2 coilovers waiting to be installed as well as my Rial Daytona rims.

The tune I had was pretty conservative.. Not sure how much PSI is max, but I think I am really happy with my results. This car mind you, is my DD commuting 80 miles round trip daily.

But to stay on track. If I were the OP, I would probably choose the 335i Sedan, because the coupe is a little tight to have kids/children getting in and out of. If not, the IS350 is pretty sweet too.

BMW is the only way I would go if I sold my S2000

lol well of course IMO the sedan is kinda ugly ... hence the e92 M3 has the coupe front

the IS350 is really no fun (at least to me) .. feels very unconnected.

I am a BMW guy going to Honda. But for me its an upgrade (I own an E36 328i, and want to get an S2K eventually).

The 335i is heavy compared to the S2K. And it does have BMW handling and its performance is insane. But I would rather go with an S2K if you wanted to track, but if its a daily definitely get the 335i.

new bimmers are so hideous. No matter how good the performance of them (which I highly respect), I couldn't own one simply because they are so ugly.

Isnt the ISF targeting the M3 instead? So I guess it's a compliment ....

as far as appearance .. dont get me wrong I think the new models are atrocious EXCEPT only the 3 series coupe. No I didnt conform .. rather it was the only model I liked when I first saw it.

The rest is just plain bleh (even the M3 yes)
