WTF!!!!! shock tower
Ok, so my driverside front suspension has been making clunking noises for the past few days, noises similar to when i had busted strus. so I figured that must be the problem.
So just now i get around to checking it out, and the entire strut tower has separated at the seam from the rest of the body!!! any one ever heard of this before...
im going to go get pictures of it right now should be up in a few minutes

damn dude, maybe a good welder can slap some extra metal on there and fortify it somehow. Where do you live? lots of snow/salt/rust where you are? Keep us posted with what happens

I saw your message this morning and I thought you were kidding, but apparently this is real deal. The rubberized undercoating would have to be scraped down and the car would have to be put on a frame machine to ensure that everything is completely straight, then it should just be a matter of welding the innter wheel well to the body of the car. If it should be MIG or TIG welded is unsure to me. I will try to talk to Bob or something like that, hopefully get some answers.

Just go around and ask people who drive Fords what they do when the frame starts to come apart.....JK
That looks like something you definately want to spend some time on and fix it the right way. Like removing all the stuff around it, grinding down all the caulking and welds and welding it back....if you want to keep the car that is.

Not really, if he removes the suspension components then he should have zero issue getting at that part. I forget the name of the tool, but theres a wheel with metal whiskers on it thats used for taking the undercoating off, hit it with that **** and then its time to break out the oxy acetalyne torch and a ******* coat hanger

Re: (Cain Marko)
i had an old accord that i drove for years that had a hole the size of baseball in the strut tower.i used to jump that car and offroad it. you didn't do that did ya? what spring poundage do you run in the front?
you should be able to weld it. make sure that you reundercoat it so it doesn't rust.

I think he is running Tein Basic Coilovers...correct me if I am wrong ryan. The car saw auto-x only, never seriously abused(jumped)...probably one of the cleaner 4th gen ludes that I've ever seen, very well taken care of

holy **** man....didn't this it would look that haggard. Doug told me you sent him pictures last night and I thought i was a typical Doug German joke but no i wreckin it's true. I would do as James' suggested and brign it to a frame shop that has a good welder and have them put it on the frame machine to make sure that everything is straight.
or if you really want to fix it the right way I think there is this stuff called duct tape. If you use that and then take a plasma pistol to heat it up you should be fine for atleast another 100k
