ok i just bought a 97 prelude SH W/T h22a and i was putting my cold air intake on and there is a vacume system under the air filter i didnt know about. so my question is do i gota do anything special for this car when puting a cold air intake in. cause ive had mustangs and put cold air intakes on them no **** like that thanks for your opinion? oh and i know black smoke means 2 much fule how can i fix that also ?

 

You're going to have to take off that side of the bumper and undo a couple of bolts, and then the bottom half of the stock intake should come out. Once you take off the bumper, you're beable to see what bolts to take out

 

that little vacuum thing can be removed and you plug the line going to the TB so your idle stays normal.

To fix the rich condition the easiet thing is to get a V-AFC (map sensor piggyback)and tune the A/F ratio on a Dyno with it.
