Default would would the limiting factor with this header be?

http://lion.esosoft.net/hotshot.com/headers/HD3070.html

Prelude Race Header - HD3070
Prelude Vtec Race Only Header. 4-1 Design with improved ground clearance. This header was for L'Natural and enabled it to be the first ALL MOTOR FWD in the 11's. 12 HP to the wheels OVER the nearest competitor. Designed for H22 Swaps into Civic/ CRX Body. Unfortunately will not fit in Preludes or Accords. 1 3/4" Dia. primaries, 18" x 2 1/2" ID Straight collector. DOES NOT BOLT TO EXHAUST.

Personally I'd put a 2.5" collector on it when I welded it up to the exhaust - but what part about it do you think makes it not able to fit the prelude? The subframe?

The merge collector won't clear the suspension subframe. Take a look at your current setup, the 2-1 collector barely fits.

I don't understand, it says it already has a 2.5" collector.

Does not bolt to exhaust, doesn't mean you weld it to the exhaust, it means it's not meant to be run with an exhaust, it's an open header.

yeah I read that - my question was why - hoping it might be something I could modify, like trim something down a bit so it would clear.

oops - sorry, I read on the homepage that it was a 3" collector, but it sounds like it has a 2.5" in that discripition.

Also, I don't think there would be a problem welding it up to an exhaust. you'd probably loose the cat though.

I wonder if collector would happen to fit in right between the axle and the frame... judging where the 02 sensor housing is, I think that might be the case.

any other thoughts on this header?

Looks similar to a Mugen or ITR header.

There is NO way, no matter what, that this header would ever fit a prelude/accord..

#1: Motor mount is in the way of the #3&4 Cylinder pipes...

#2: Will not clear subframe/block clearance in that widtch

#3: The support bracket from the subframe to the Chassis will not allow a header that wide...

These are the problems that SMSP and I are despratly trying to figure out, to produce a header that will yeild power, as well as fit a prelude/accord, without clearance issues, its hard..

Maybe this one is better than my mugen one...

i have a EK-h22 so shouldn`t be a problem but could i couple it to an exaust or still wouldn`t work..

I don`t have toworry about smog rating here yet...

worth it or not.. any dyno`s proven
