wire harness???
i was just wondering what the difference was with the H23 wire harness and the H22 wire harness. when doing a swap, is it nessesary to re do the wire harness and why? How hard is it to replace the harness if the engine is in already and where can i get an h22 harness if i need one?
You do not need to replace the entire harness, just add the VTEC harness. Rywire makes the VTEC harness you will need. That is where i got mine from. They seem like really nice guys. I had a question while installing the thing and they were very helpful. All this info can be found in the FAQs at the top of the prelude forum.
depends what year ur car is. 93+ came pre-wired for VTEC.
my 94 si (H23a1) had the vtec solenoid wire sitting on the passenger side shock tower, and the VTEC pressure switch wire goes from the ECU, through the firewall, into a connector, and DOESN'T come out the other side
For the VTEC solenoid, I cut the protective plastic back, and freed up the wire a little bit, and it reached the vtec solenoid without cutting or adding more wire to that one.
The VTEC pressure switch.... I cut just before it went into that connector, and twisted the connection together, added about a foot of similar gauge wire, and connected it to the pressure switch using a green, 2-wire female engine connector that I hacked off a spare harness that my friend had. And grounded the other wire to the thermostat housing.
I don't know if F22's came pre-wired, but my car has been like this for about......5 years. Twist connected and ALL.
