Default will 110 octane help....?

i have a friend who goes to the drags every other week, and on that day, he'll be running less that a quarter on fuel. Then he'll add 2 gallons of 110. he said that will help him improve his q/t time... it that true? if it will help me get a lower q/t, i'll be running on 110 octane rather than 91

If he's not using some type of F/I, or 12.5:1 compression or higher he will NOT benefit at all from the higher octane

WHo produces 110 octane unleaded fuel? You notice I said unleaded. Sunoco only goes to 100 for their race unleaded. Does it help-not really-unless you have cams and weird timing and an ECU that has been programmed. The sensors will detect the difference and adjust for it. I asked Sunoco Race Fuels about it and in simple terms the difference between 94 and 100 is when the fuel starts to burn.

There is an Integra here in town that has just been built. On 91 octane he dynos somewhere around 350whp with 110 octane he dynos somewhere around 360-370whp. But he has an extreme build. He also told me that he has two programs that he runs, one for pump fuel and one for race fuel.
As for your car, I really don't think you would benefit any from higher octane fuel unless your experiencing detonation.

ya, higher octane is so you can run more timing/boost/n2o w/out detanation...your sig says 28 psi, but your times show a stock prelude times!!!?? also if you were just trying to make up #'s, rt is supposed to be .5xx not 5.xx... not saying you are just wondering

Don't forget if you have a JDM motor its designed to take 100 octane...

Surprised the octane is so low over there - its 95-98 out the pumps here in the UK but then it does cost a more I think...

Judging by you lot all having massive bhps octane seems to make **** all difference anyway
