Default why are these illegal??

Ok so these would look reeally nice on the back of my car... but I am wondering why they state that they are for "off road or show use only"

I had clear blinkers on my last car and got pulled over allllll the time for them and it was way annoying, I just dont wanna get pulled over like that again and so i didn't wanna buy these if i would.

So if i put amber bulbs in the blinker part, and red bulbs in the brake light parts, is there anything else these would be illegal for?

Why dont you just answer his question or not post at all? Do you really have such a useless life that you need to talk **** about questions on a honda-acura forum?

To answer your question, they want red or amber in the rear and white or amber in the front. My guess is that ppl would think it was headlights coming toward them..?

Ya I like these... Like I dont like those clear ones with the red circles everywhere.... they are way too trendy, but I think these could look a lot nicer than the stock... cuz I have a pure black prelude with black windows, and I have white turn signal lights, a white honda emblem, and white license plates... so these would look rockin.

ANYWAYS, if i put red and amber bubls in here... is there anything else i'd need to do so they are legal?

I've heard in certain place u cannot have clear blinkers because it's too "distracting" and "bright". But then they have volvos that come stock with white blinkers, so i dunno whut the deal is.

I know that clear blinkers are illegal whre i live, i used to get pulled over all the time with my old 91 lude when I had them... but from what i understand I can put clear blinkers in the front and sides, just not the back.

What is that red reflector you were talking about? that sounds like i'd have to rip open these tail lights to put it in... that would suck. Wouldn't red bulbs be easier?

Ya and WHAT IS the deal with new cars getting away with this stuff?? My friend gets pulled over for having "blue" headlights which is illegal cuz you cant project blue or red from the front of a vehicle... but new mercedes and bmw's have even bluer lights i swear... Same with taht white blinker from the volvo.

ask a cop if they are illegal.

I know in north carolina it is illegal to have any white light in the tails. So you might be able to get away with them if you use red bulbs.

BTW, they are ugly.

also a lot has to do with teh fact that during the day

you cant see white lights blinking.

so if you ahve clear tails and you stop, withour a red/amber reflector. its hard to see

ooh. that makes sense. hmm ok. so how hard would it be to install those reflectors?

YOu know what i really want, is LED brake lights. I cant find em anywhere tho. I mean nice looking ones, not Altazerra ones.

You'll have to custom make them.

Thats kinda surprising no one makes after market LED lights for hondas... seems like they would sell good... probably better than most of those Altazerras

They're illegal cause there are no red reflectors on the side.

haha, well if you read anything but the title.. i know that... but i am wondering if red bulbs are good enough. Cuz if i need reflectors that would probably cost another hundred to get them put in... and once i reach that much, i would only spend a little more for LED's... and that would probably cost too much. I'd rather have stock. haha.

do they even make red bulbs since most cars have the reflectors??? just a thought that would be a problem.

Personally I think it would be, but the cops have the final say about it. We all know the stories or have dealt with the cops that like to ticket us for everything we and then there are those that own't care.

I'd say just stick with the stock ones just so you don't have to deal with all the hassle that the cops will probably give you.

i wasnt talking ****. and yes the reason their illegal is because you need a red reflector, like said previously.

Ok... but they would look way nice on a black lude that has tinted windows w/ white emblem, license plate, and clear turn signals.

i actually think those look pretty good. i have seen them in person and actually like them

just get red reflector tape and put a small bit on either light.

Thats right they would look good. I dont like the ones with circles everywhere... but these could look way nice...

would I have to tear apart the fixture to do that?
