i have a 1993 honda prelude Si 4ws(h23a1). whats gonna happen if i change my engine to a DOHC VTEC? is the 4ws still gonna be there or is it gonna be taken off if i changed my engine to an DOHC VTEC?

 

if you can use the search feature you will know... but yes you can have a jdm engine swap and keep the 4ws if you have the correct ecu very very rare but there is a 4WS japan p13 ecu that will work for your ride

Perfectly stated as far as my knowledge goes.

 

Would it be possible to get an easy to find usdm 4ws ecu and reprogram it to his engine while keeping the 4ws? Such as tuning with hondata.

 

yes but costly
usdm p13 w/ 4ws === $ 200
s200 or s100 hondata $ 300
tuning $150
plus taxes etc. $ 80
so around $750 or so
try ebay they sell some p13s at deals sometimes but I am sure the 4ws ecus are more...

 

Wait a minute. Electronic 4WS is controlled by it's own ECU. There shouldn't be any problem at all. [GI Joe voice] maday, maday I need back-up right away [GI Joe voice]

 

yes it is controlled by its own 4ws controller that is in the drivers rear fender wheel area but you have to have a 4ws ecu with the extra pin outs to control it I do believe ---
because the cars ecus with 4ws I have seen have 4ws on them ....
