Looking at buying this for a swap it has around 80k on it , can you tell what it is by looking at it ?

 

Yup, its a B20a5 out of a 88-91 Prelude.

 

Awsome it was in a 90 prelude wasnt sure if it was original or what ! How did you know ? I was trying to find the knock sensor they talk about for the high compression but im a noob lol! Thanks alot

 

fyi the b20a5 has nothing in common with the b20b and b20z. so it is not a normal b20 for swapping into other Hondas. yes, b20a5 is original from 88-91 preludes. they do not have knock sensors though, so you'll never find one on that motor.

 

What are you looking to put this motor in?

Another 3rd gen Prelude or something else?

 

That motor is more reliable than the b21 also found in 90-91 preludes u can probably sell if for some decent $$$ with only 80k

Are you talking about the B20b or the above engine which is the first generation Prelude B20a5?
