Get some light parts. Small things like aluminum AC bracket (or ditch the AC all together), and aluminum radiator, or get serious with CF hood and trunk

I wont say the dreaded words that involve that red button up in the corner.

But this has been cover. And its in the FAQs

Here I will even help you out
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1036229

Oh and check out Hawkze_2.3 car he loves to be light weight. He removed 8 lbs of unnecessary wire from under the dash. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1156578 This is before the c/f trunk and a few other things.

A light weight hood, trunk, and get a smaller battery. Civic radiator/ get rid of a/c , p/s, cruise control. D series alternator. carbon fiber mirrors. cf sunroof plug.

The first thing to buy to lighten your car would be lightweight wheels. Heres why:

A carbon-fiber hood saves generally around 10 pounds (give or take a few), and for $450, thats $45 per pound.

Unsprung weight (what i've heard) is generally 1 pound of unsprung weight is equal to 50 pounds of sprung weight. So, a set of wheels that weigh 12 pounds (versus stock that weight 20 pounds) is like saving 400 pounds ON ALL 4 CORNERS OF THE CAR, which totals up to 1600 pounds of weight saved, and say those wheels cost $800, it is $0.50 to 1 pound weight savings.

Now, does 1600 or 10 pounds sound better to you? Though so

OOOOoooo, you got a little lesson too, didn't you?

it's not quite that drastic.........droping your car 1600lbs would let it get down the track a lot faster than the weight savings from the wheels........let's ease up on the misinformation, cause you are not gonna see that much of a difference from wheels, the tire choice, on the other hand, can make a world of difference off the line and in the corners

ya it will be nowhere near that drastic. if it was that easy everyone would buy 8 lbs rims for 3 grand then every one would be super fast

But he heard it from someone so it must be right.

At most "sprung" to "unsprung" is maybe 2 or 3 to 1.

For every unsprung lb taken off is like taking about 1.7 sprung lb off. Every 17lbs of sprung weight taking off is like gaining 1whp. So if you get new rims/tires that combined together weight 10lbs less than ur current wheel setup, then it is like gaining 4whp. Every little bit counts for n/a and weight reduction not only helps u accelerate better but also improves handling and braking. These are just rule of thumbs and nothing concrete.

Good luck buddy
