There's no Official Prelude weights thread, so I figured I'd just post it up because I know a couple people wanted to know what my Prelude weighed. I went to one of thos truck-stop scales and paid them like $8 to use the scale.

The grand total was 2520 with a FULL tank of gas. So if you figure I weigh 145 and the 13 gallons of gas wiegh roughly 100 lbs (8 lbs/gal), then the car comes in at 2275!!
The stock weight of a 95 Si is 2866, so I've dropped almost 600 lbs according to those calculations, but that sounds like a bit much. Somebody tell me what I missed.... Either way I'm happy.

I knew somebody would ask that
...
Lighter parts--
--CF hood
--CF sunroof plug (lost 43 lbs with interior panels)
--15" Volk TE-37s (8.8 lbs each)
--8 lb Flywheel
--Custom full exhaust + DC header
--Intake
--Pulleys
--8lb Battery
--Cam gears
Removed--
--Entire ABS system
--Entire CC system
--Entire AC system
--Entire PS system
--EVAP system
--Intake resonator
--FULLY gutted rear interior (seats, belts, shelf, wiring, everything)
--Sound deadening material
--All carpet
--Spare tire, jack and related parts
--Rear bumper support
--Entire Radio and Speaker Setup
--Glove box
--Entire windshield washer system
--Center console (temporary)
--ECU cover
--Tons of nuts, bolts, brackets, clips, etc...
Heavier parts--
--Progress rear sway bar (way heavier than stock)
--F & R strut bars and C-piller bar
--Oil catch tank
I think that's it...
Future plans are CF seats and trunk, Tein FLEX (should be lighter than stock), and a traction bar setup (-20 lbs or so)

if u wanna get real nutty remove the front and rear bumper supports and door panels and everything. Have a custom fabbed dash out of CF. there is still much more that you could do. Are you trying to keep this car somewhat streetable ?
Great job so far man

check out d2 coilovers.. those are all aluminum (unlike tein) and weigh a shitton less than stock. i can get you any spring rates you want for the d2's so you can get rid of the sway bar saving even more weight.
take the door panels off and carefully cut away some of the metal in there (leave just enough to hold hte windows and door panels).. that will save a good 5+lbs per door.
bumpersupports gota go as well, those things are heavy and dont do much anyway

Thank you, thank you. The goal with this car is to be 100% streetable while mostly looking stock (once I get it painted).
I have taken out the back support, but I like having the front in there....I'll probably have to cut it later for an FMIC anyhow.
Thanks for the advice, JDogg. I'll look into those d2's right now...

dam so you weighed it with a full tank of gas and with you in the car!
when i first saw the number i was like, hmm thats not a bad number at with him int he car and an empty fuel tank. .. **** man you put the lude on a diet !
and you are one skinny mo fo , 145.. damn i weigh like 190 ish.
edit: what i would really like to know is the weight distribution after all this !?

The scale had different sections for each axle and if you look at the readout, it was 1560 on the front, 960 on the rear. That sounds about right to me, but I'm not %100 percent sure that the car was balanced on the scale just right...
I am a skinny ****, but it's all muscle.

I can't find info on the stock weight distro, but here's how I was on the scales---\/

Would anything change if I was like this---\/

Sorry, I am at home with a cold right now, so I have time to do all this stuff...

for all the weight loss, but I always laugh when I see "streetable". On these forums it seems to mean "driven on the street" but it doesn't mean legal, smog legal, or comfortable. Might be, might not, it's all subjective. Like the guys who claim to have 800hp "street legal" cars...
Guarantee aside, I wonder about the accuracy of truck scales way down at the bottom of their range. I mean, they're used to weighing 20,000lb loaded trash trucks, so I wonder if the scales have the same accuracy at the lower 10% of the range. They're probably fine.

Yes, having yourself centered would change a ton. If you ever took physics
, your center of mass helps determine the force of torque on the ground (or in your case, the scales) so yes, if you can spring another 8bucks, empty the gas tank and center yourself on those scales! You will have a better weight distribution!

I pulled up to the speaker and noticed that the ground was separated into sections, and by time I realized my back tire was resting on the gap between the 2 sections the lady was saying "OK, here we go".
I backed up as quick as I could but didn't get very far....

I would beg to differ.. Having an empty gas tank will actually further sway the weight distribution to the front, unless I am confused and the gas has been relocated to the front of the car...... Having the car centered will also be a very small difference in comparison to what you might think.... The weight at the tires will show the same no matter how centered it is on the scale...

our local drag strip has a scale that you drive across after you get your timeslip... its not manned, just a little LCD display that you read if you stop in the right place... maybe you could do that?
