You could probably find some for 300 now..

and it also depends on what you have done to the car.

VAFC would be good if you were willing to get it professionally tuned..

Also if you have some mods.

well, so far i've added aem cai, and magna flow exhaust, and recently put in platinum spark plugs.. My mechanic told me if i get the vtec controller, then i'd have 200hp at the wheels.

im also thinking of adding high pressure pistons, and probably dc headers. UmM what other ways do you think i can increase my whp by adding more mods..except getting turbo and nos?

my goals would be to have about 260 hp But, im not sure if thats possible..without getting an engine swap..or turbo. is it?

you mechanic is an idiot.

its possible without turbo but its gonna cost youuu.
Id recommend saving you money for more important things. If you plan on pulling 260hp without turbo you are going to want hondata and all the money you can save.

Invest in an FPR and some cam gears to start with, they are your friend.

If your car is an automatic or sport shift, good luck with 260. Otherwise, there is tons of stuff you could do.

well, no offense to you or your mechanic, but 200 to the wheels with just an intake, exhaust and plugs is simply outrageous. You'd be lucky to find 175 at the wheels.

But as for the vtec controller, the vafc 2's, from what ive seen, run around the 300-350 range.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: damnit typesh, you beat me

ahhh..yea that does help alot. thanks uMm my car btw is auto =//. i know i've already asked this question alot of tiems but i know this place where they'd swap my transmission for about 6500. All of the parts would be brand new. You guys suggest i raplace my transmission and get the mods wayyy in the future..or juss stick with the auto and get the mods. Oh..and getting 260hp is hard for an automatic comparied to manual?

*i know spending 6500 on my car would be a stupid thing to do because thats worth half my car. But i <3 my car and its in good condition. *..

In the end, my main goal as i said before would be to have 260 hp without getting turbo..etc.

my advice to you, is to swap to a manual and 6500 is so damn expensive, tell whoever quoted you that price they are on drugs.

I know there are some people on HT selling everything you need for a 5spd conversion minus a transmission.

I strongly suggest doing that, and work from there. 260 is damn near impossible on a automatic tranny. Not to metion it would probably blow up.

wahh really?.. hMm 6500.. yea lol 6500 did seem too expensive. People on hT told me before it should cost around 2000 - 2500 for the manual swap. But i've called alot of junkyards and they all told me "good luck" in finding the parts i needed. How much would you estimate a tranny swap, with all brand new parts + the labor fee?

might be better off just selling your car and buying a 5spd.

between 2-3K sounds about right.

get a bad *** tranny while your at it.

then find a local shop who is willing to do it and not rape you on labor fees

i actually know of a local shop. ill talk to them tonight and see what they would charge your for a conversion.

TO THE GUY WHO STARTED THIS THREAD

hopefully you actually read this, and read a lot more on this site before u spend any more money for that matter, you do not need a vtec controller, lowering ur vtec point will not do anything for you except waste fuel, as far as your mechanic goes dump him and find someone new, the guy is a moron, call prospeed 714-292-9977, tranny swap 2000 installed, as far as 260 whp n/a, i'm sorry but you will never see this, $3000 in the future be lucky if you see 200-210 whp, for 260 you are looking at major internal work, major head work, new IM, and thats just a start....

my advice, sell your car and buy an auto, and find a mechanic who knows something
