just wondering when vtec should kick in on a jdm h22a w/ p13 ecu. mine dosen't kick in til 5,000 rpms. i thought it should be like 4,400. and i have a major power loss between 3,000 - 5,000 when i only have it at 50% throttle

 

5000 sounds correct. 4400 is too low.

IAB solenoid activates on a P13 (91-96) at 4600, and 4900 on a P5M (97-01)
VTEC solenoid activates on a P13 (91-96) at 4900, and 5200 on a P5M (97-01)

the cluster reads 5200, but its off 200, so actually about 5000 give or take

 

about your loss of power when @ 50% throttle is likely due to the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). When you don't have the throttle opened past a certain point the vtec will not activate.

 

ahhhhhhh i see would the O2 sensor have anything to do w/ it either? cause i think mine is bad, and i get crapy gass mileage
