Default vtec engagement problems

Im having some problems with my vtec. I installed the skunk2 manifold, and during the process i broke the knock sensor, or the plug for it. Vtec worked for a bit, but then it started acting up. Figured it was the knock, since i was running the p13. I just put in a p28 today, and vtec kicks in and out from 6k-7.5k. its set at 4800. i cleaned the solenoid, but im still having the problem. Maybe oil pressure? If anyone knows what up, help me out. Thanks in advance

i hope you didn't just install a plane jane p28 in there,
if you did, take it out until you can get it tuned with hondata.

a stock p28 will make your motor run hella lean

Maybe its just me and someone else can say somehting, but what is the point of lowering your vtec. Seems to me this could just cause problems. Your oil squirters still dont kick in till when vtec is supposed to kick in originally. This means you are running in vtec without the extra oil.

Lowering it too much is bad, but the advantage to lowering
is a little more midrange power, plus you don't
have to rev as high to land in vtec in the next gear

I thought the best vtec engagement point for the h22 is around 4800? Or am I wrong?

It depends on your setup, the best way to find out your ideal vtec
crossover point is on a dyno
