Default vtec controller suggestions

my little brother just got a 98 prelude sh and we're looking for suggestions on what brand of vtec controller to buy, we've only found the apexi one, but its like $500. we'll pay that much if we have to, but we wanna see what else is out there.

Because his brother has an SH.

Chaca...The answer is to go with the Apexi VAFC-II with a PnP harness. You'll probably spend in the neighborhood of about $200. Then, of course, you'll want to tune it (with a dyno).

yeah the apexi is a good choice I had one for a while until I got the hondata s300 which is a lot of fun, I would recommend it to all Honda Tuners.

Actually if you want I have a brand new Apec Neo unit Ive been trying to sell for about half a year now. I ask for 400 shipped. Brand new in box, Id like to see it sold. Let me know.

You won't be able to get your ECU chipped as it isn't OBD1. You'll need a jumper harness from OBD2 to OBD1 and a chipped OBD1 ECU:

But they lose the ATTS. I would suggest the NEO for what you want to do, it is the most user friendly option, and the plug and play harness is worthwhile, to avoid splicing into the stock harness, or having any wiring mistakes.
