Default vtec controller ::?::

can anyone explain why a vtec controller is only helpful if you have a good amount of mods done? Ive heard people say a vtec controller will give you +10hp for say an intake, when it would only give you a couple hp without the controller.. why is this?

thanks

I think the CAI add about 8whp when installed on a stock H22, but after more mods, they kinda improve upon each other. I dont know about the VTEC controller, I think you would need a dyno to really be able to use it to perfection. Hope someone else can help you more than I can.

cause honda has the car tweaked in its stock form. so the a/f ratios are pretty much optimal right now. once you start changing everything, the optimal ratios may differ, so you dyno-tune your car (important) and adjust your v-afc to the best settings.

ps- 10hp from a vafc and just an intake is highly unlikely.

peace
