i cant wait tell you do this and show me how it is done because my buddy with a 93 just bought the 94 console and wants me to install it for him and this will help me out soo much, what did you get besides the console? the e-brake cable for a 94?

I pick it upon the 29th and drive it back home. the problem with a new cable is they are pretty expensive. does anyone know if it is just 1 cable i have to lengthen or is it both of them?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Also it would be nice if you did a how to.

well i know this topic is about converting the 92-93 console to the 94-96. but heres what i did this past week cause i was bored: i converted my 92 console. to the 93 console w/ the rare optional cupholders that hold nothing.
got the leather piece in between. and above is just where i've always had my capacitor for my system. looked better w/ the 92 console IMO
theres the half switch and the 93 console w/ the add on:
heres with it open:
and now a 92 w/ a 93 console cupholder!! that holds nothing!
and my sex blocker 92 console w/ the rare optional driverside arm rest. which lifts up btw so u can put ur change underneath it.
and again:

i have the same 92 console w/ the optional armrest and was also planning on doing the 94-96 conversion but was looking into the 93 console w/ the rare optional cupholders.
after seeing those pictures of the 93 console, i think i might switch back to planning on doing the 94-96 conversion. In a way the 93 rare cupholder doesn't look like it was made for that console (looks somewhat fabricated). I looks alright but doesn't look as good as i expected to be.
thanks for the pictures! would have ended up buying something that i wouldn't have liked. also, you're right, that 93 cupholder doesn't really look like it can old anything.
to stay on topic, bump for vtec console conversion pics

lol personally, i like the 92 console sex blocker cause i could store all my **** in there. plus the lude isn't for having sex in. plus you could lock it. awsommme. the 93 cupholder option sits higher than the 92 optional armrest which i like. no 1 ever sits in my back seats ever. but i only did the conversion in my car cause i was bored and had the parts. however.. to stay on topic. my friend is doing the 94-96 console conversion. but he's doing it the correct way and rewiring the ebrake completely and not just cutting and welding wires together. i've seen pics of a custom adapter for it. i'll get some pics of it when he does it too. but i'm good with my 93 cupholder console for now. i like the little pouch they give you. and plus it came with a half button when i got it from ebay. eitherway, 93 bone console was the gayest console ever. 92 was awsome cause you could lock **** in there. (even though a 5yr old could break it open). + a ps2 fits perfectly in there.
wow, ive never seen that "rare" cup holder/arm rest. thats pretty awsome. thanks for the pic.
As for the ebrake cables, the ones i saw he lengthend both, but if you can get around it with only doing one, i wouldnt see the harm. as long as it mounts properly and still tensions properly.

me either...Im currently trying to figure out if I want to change the cable or extend it...I guess I could extend it but **** how would I do that? any kind of clamps to adjoin the 2 cables, or maybe soldering them together? Im just not ready to spend 65 bucks on the e-brake cable from majestic honda, if anyone is parting out a 94-96 lude and wants to sell me their e-brake cables....let me know!!

but as soon as I get it, the next day...this badass console is going in!

why don't u have a car?
as far as the brake lines go, i would personally just replace them entirely with the 94-96 ones. instead of welding and cutting and what not. u never know if those welds will give when you're parked on a hill and your car isn't in gear.

All you peeps who want a cup holder so bad don't worry about it. In the 94/96 the cup holder is basically non-functional unless you got like a small cup of joe in it or something. Any sort of med/large soda and your shift **** is totally obstructed forcing you to grab at a wierd angle. What they SHOULD have done was make it further depressed down. I've actually been looking into that since there is actually a lot of room underneath it as i've pulled it out before.
im not trying to do this for just the cup holder. i hate the long lockbox. it makes the already unusable seats even hards to use. with no lockbox i can maybe fit one person back there sitting long ways. plus an arm rest thats a bit easier to rest on than the top of the lockbox would be nice.

plus it just looks A WHOLE LOT better IMO. thats why we are doing this, other than that...as I said before I dont drink in my car UNLESS it has a top like a bottle of coke...

Here you find some pictures from my install that had place 2 years ago.
The trick with handbrake cables works without problem (I didn't changed them, they're still 92-93 version).

the bracket in the pics above, does that not pull one of the ebrake more than the other side? I did something siliar to mine but couldn't ever get it adjusted right because it would be loose on the driver side and too tight on the passenger side.
well, my friend just did the conversion, and to do it the correct way, your're supposed to use 94-96 ebrake cables. but i guess since that guy did it 2 years ago with that home made adapter, then why not. but apparently in the 92-93 the console frame is different from the 94-96 and you have to bang down the metal to get it to fit properly. but my friend did the conversion and its straight.
