however.. unless you are greatly mistakened for the 92-93 console conversion to the 94-96 then yes. there are many write ups all over the place. lemme find one.

:search: it can be done, there is no write up as of yet. whenever i do mine i intend to do a full write up. You need to mount the entire ebrake assembly from the 94-96 in place of the 92-93 one. I know you have to extend the ebrake cables when u mount the 94-96 brake to mate with the exsisting 92-93 cables. The holes might exist or you have to drill them out to bolt in the 94-96 assembly in. just pick up some bolts, washers and nuts from a hardware store.

Some one mentioned being able to bend/remount the exsisting ebrake to work with the 94/96 console. i dont see why youd do this, id jst get the whole assembly with the console.

Let us know if you decide to do it before i do, if so PICTURES!

its not hard to do and all the places to mount stuff is there.

You'll need everything from the gear shift back then the stuff between the rear seats. Pull your rear seats out and both front seats and you'll be able to swap. Remember you'll need to ebrake too since its different and your good to go.

I have searched and there is no full write-up of this being done. I found a link to another site, but that site isnt functioning anymore...

on the issue of the e-brake cables...couldnt I just replace the cable with one from a 94-96 model to solve the length issue?

swapping from a 92-93 to a 94-96 will be a HUGE hassle. you gotta cut weld ebrake, rewire your mirror switch, emergency, change the cable lines, etc.. big hassle if you ask me..

just change your s or si to a vtec console.. (keep it 93) so you can have the center subwoofer.. and if you have a 92 even better you can take out that whole assembly on the rear and change it to that little groove pocket thing

I just want it where the center console doesnt go all the way to the rear seats and just stops at the back of the front seats...it looks much cleaner IMO...

but I was thinking, e-brake cables arent a big deal, relocating the e-brake, I could just drill holes and use some heavy duty bolts, washers, and nuts to hold it down...this could work righht? and why do I have to worry about the mirror switch? my power mirros are on the door panel, not the console. only thing I would have to worry about is the hazard lights switch, but this is not a problem, just use the switch and rewire it with the correct plug

92 had the console that goes all the way to the back
93 had the same looking console but it only went has far as the back of the front seats and had it where the back seat was open
94-96 had the e-brake moved closer to the driver, cup-holder installed and also came in leather for the vtec model.

if you have the one that goes all the way to the back i would just get the 93 one, it opens up the back without redoing the e-brake for the 94-96 one.

^^^ exactly what he said..you are misinformed.... you should first check out all of the consoles for the different years.

if you have a 92 just swap it to a 93 without replacing the ebrake (it's a direct swap)

you should get familiar with all the consoles before doing this project or most importantly before you make a purchase

To my knowledge, no one has done this yet. Lots of talk and people claim but no one has successfully done it. I have never seen a writeup or pics of someones converted console.

this definetly is not a hassle. I did a write up for hpoa.org but its shut down.
This was when i first got my car and i had very limited knowledge about working w/ cars and wiring, and i figured it out for myself when i was 16, so it shouldnt be difficult.

Take out the console, check the positioning of the ebrake. drill holes, bolt the ebrake on, then just extend the mirror and hazard wires, and you're done.

Yes, we understand that thank you. What you're missing is that in 94-96 Prelude the Mirror switch was moved to the center cosole.

94-96 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2227222/3 the first pic on the right...notice the mirror switch is the one right next to the e-brake

92-93 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/545476/6 This is probably what you have note the hazard button is the only one in the console

O, ok, so why not just remove that switch and just replace it with a block off plate?

Yea the 92 non-cup holder sucks *****.....when switching over to H22 you should switch the interior over to good cup holder cause that extra HP and good VTEC kick will spill a drink a million times over lol

I dont drink in my car, nor do I eat or allow smoking...I just hate the long *** center console, it looks tacky as hell. I like the shorter style. i could care less about cup holders
