Default Vtec is back

OK my vtec is back workin gone for like two years the car is now running good but i got 190,000 miles im guessin time for a rebuild what would you do?

If you're not burning an excessive amount of oil, then your piston rings still have a good seal and I wouldn't think you would need a rebuild just yet.

Why was ur vtec gone for 2 yrs? Did it run away? lol. .... Or was car just broke down for the 2 year period?

Well one day vtec just quit working i tried all the small things then finally i got on honda-tech made a post then bought the gasket put it on and it is running pertty good for 190000 miles on it im running valoine high mileage oil and was just wondering what everbody else used and if i should run any thing else

Do you know anything about the mahle gold pistions??

search mahle gold pistons. You'll come up with more than you can possibly read in one afternoon! Lots of good info.

How much oil do you go through? Do you leak any oil? Do you do oil changes when the oil becomes black or do you just stick to a time or mileage? I'd change it when it gets black or 3000-5000 kms, what ever is sooner.

If not I still don't see the reason why you couldn't change to synthetic after running conventional. Anybody know exactly why with actual facts, rather than hearsay?
