swaping on a sohc head is different that a DOHC VTEC head, you will see some power gains froma sohc vtec head, but very minimal , maybe 10 to 15 hp.

im pretty sure that my prelude does have vtec becasuse i have been listening and watching some vids of vtec cars and hearing the vtec and yes im pretty sure that it does have vtec for some reason...

well its also possible that the car has secondary intake runners, which open at a higher rpm.. this can be confused for the sound of VTEC..

does your car have any other after market modifications? anything that didn't come stock with the car, any electronics? you could always take a picture,, or pull up the rug in the pasanger side and read us the code off of the ECU.

yeah maybe thats it...but i can see the or a little green thing that enters the engine right behind the dizzy its a bit farther back than the h22 but its there...

# 9 is the break down of the vtec solinoid you would need that if you had vtec, study the image above closely

pop ur valve cover, and look at ur cams, that should answer ur question
