Default Voltage Problems

1993 Prelude 4ws /w h22a4 swap and i'm only reading 10 v at the battery when engine is running. i've tested the alternator, and it reads 14.5v when battery is disconnected. battery is brand new and sits at 12.5v. when i my car is running with the negitive terminal disconnected the car runs at 14.5v and when i hook up my battery (while it's running) it drops to 10v. any thoughts?

Maybe you have a bad ground somewhere, did you check the tranny to chassis mount thats right below the battery?

It sounds like you could be having a short. I would look for smoke. If you have any unfused heavy guage(sterio amp) you might try unhooking it.
