Default valve spring compressor

trying to find a valve spring compressor for the h23. bought one from advance auto but it wouldn't work because of the recessed valves. may have to modify it if i can't find one. any help is appreciated.

the only way ur gonna get at those vavles w/o removing the head is with that snap on tool that bolts on to the cam cap area. or if you haeve the head off its straight forward with a big *** c-clamp

I also ran into this problem with my h22 head. The clamp does not work either. I talked to my dads friend that runs a machine shop and he said the tool is about 400 bucks for these motors. So your best bet would be to take it somewhere and have it put together. I donno what it usually costs but he charged me 20 bucks.

nope you can definitely use a c-clamp and a little ingenuity. i've done countless h22 heads like that.

i've done it with the head off with a clamp and the open end of a wrench. I don't want to remove the head this time. I'll try and make a tool at work tomorrow. thanks for the responses, any others are equally appreciated.
