Default Valve Lash

ok my friend told me he thinks i have valve lash. I did a 3rd gear pull and parked and when i started my car there was a tapping noise. Can someone describe what it is and how to fix to save me some $$$ if possible, Thanks in advance.

there is a writeup somewhere on here on the procedure to doing a valve adjustment. Its not too difficult. It cant hurt to check the valve lash however its hard to diag a noise without hearing it, hopefully the noise is only a valve lash issue.

What motor is in the car ?

All cars have valve lash, but it sounds like yours needs to be adjusted back into spec. There's lots of write-ups online and it can be done with basic tools

Yes, Honda engines have adjustable valves....
