Default vafc problem

i was cruising around with my brother and at one point i revd it up to 7k. and for some reason the CEL came on. i checked around the engine and seen the one of the plugs came off.. i started the car and the rpm gauge was all the way at zero but it was running like crap. i didnt have any problems like this before i got the vafc. right then i cut all the wires going from the ecu to the vafc. could it be that it skipped timing? any suggestions would be nice.. thanks

search for timing belt and see if theres any posts w/ problems similar to yours. i dont think it's VAFC causing this problem, do a compression check and see whats up, im thinking valves are bent at least. im by no means a pro just trying to help

Was the VAFC wired properly?? If so, there is at least 1 wire that gets shorted to the VAFC totally, so if you cut the wires to the VAFC it wont get signal and the ecu will read wrong and the car will run wrong!

check the compression of your motor... if somethings wrong with the motor, VAFC is not priority right? =X

yea, cut out that VAFC and sell it, its trash. if you want a chipped ecu just ask.
realy tho, ditch the vafc.

im hooking it up now and i want to drive 5 miles away so my friends takes it off. this is probably the last time this car had a vafc. would is cause any problems to the ecu if its hooked up wrong?

turns out it was all because of the vafc. i hooked it back up again and it started up just fine. i drove it for about 5 miles and the timing belt snapped. bent all but one valve
