Type-R haters...
I think some of you need to stop hating on the ITR. Those of you that know me, know that i've been a faithful owner of 2 'ludes, and have been on the prelude scene for about 4 years now. I have nothing but respect for the prelude, it rocks!
I remember about a year ago, maybe longer, I was very negative towards all the type-r hype. I thought, whatever...it's just another integra. Well, you can say i've seen the light. I bought one to be my daily driver, and what a good move that was. I've learned how to be a better driver with this car, and I appreciate it SO much more than I did at first. I remember driving it out of the showroom floor, and thinking it was such a dog. Keep in mind, I had to keep the revs under 5k, and I had just come from driving a 300hp lude. As days became weeks, weeks became months, I started to earn such an appreciation for the car. It is not another integra. I was not even fond of integras, but I wanted something that would be a good performer, and hold its resale value. That is what I got.
Now, i'm crazy about my ITR. So much, I neglect my turbo-prelude sometimes.
Those haters out there, you need to drive one(REALLY drive it) before you comment on it. It is not a quarter-mile performer, it is, however, an all around performer.
No flames please, this is not trashing anyone. This is just a point-of-view from an owner of both. I feel that I can honestly make a good comparison.
I love ITR and I want to own one... it is just some of the ITR owner thinks they are the ****....
I love the ITR, just some of the owners have their heads way up their asses.

I don't think many of us are hating ITR's....if this thread is result of that thread ' Any 4th gen vtec beat R yet???' Some people were just proud that they could hang with or edge them out. I know I would be. I love ITR's. I wish I owned one.
who did you go through to get the turbo for the lude???? Also how much and i have a JDM h22a but i also own a H23A and plan on putting a H22A head on it. But im not sure if i want to turbo it or build for nos. I do not like the bottel but it is an extra motor that i plan on putting in a HB or CRX. For my JDM im going all motor so the haters out there can't hate when they all get smoked!!!!
So give me a heads up if you can please.
Ps.for all you haters out there on the PRELUDES
" HOW IS THE VIEW FROM SECOND PLACE" that's

I'd love to have a TypeR and I love my Prelude too, but here's the real reason I posted this:

All I said was I've never lost to one. There is one in town though that's turbo'd and runs mid 12's. eek. But it really isn't an R anymore.
I am one of the most vocal critics, but honestly the bulk of my contempt is reserved for the owners, not the cars. I will be the first to agree that there are SOME pretty cool ITR owners (a good friend of mine locally has one), but the ********* (and there are more than a few) really show badly on the car.

Its the owners that are cocky... I pulled into BK with a friend of mine one day and there was a guy there with a ITR, I said hi and talked for a second, I said I had a prelude and he acted like I had a ******* Civic hx or something.. I was like WTF? where is the love?
I didn't really care, ITRs are great cars! But many cars can be prepped easily enough to beat them, even on a road course, my prelude does very often!

I don't hate the Type R at all. I love that car and was so close to getting one. How close you may ask? About 7 freaking Miles!!! If I would've drove to another Acura dealer instead of giving up my search that day and went home. I would be a proud owner of a 00' Yellow ITR right now instead of a proud owner of a Pearl White 00' Prelude SH!!! But I do agree with some of you on here that most ITR owners do have their heads up there asses. Same goes with most Si owners also, they think way too highly of their cars. You don't know how many times I have young punk kids who's mommy bought them an Si revs up at me wanting to race. Lucky I got a Prelude if not I would've been the biggest DICK ITR owner you will have ever met. haahhah.....J/K
ps: There are Prelude owners out there who have their head up their asses also. I know.....I am one of em.....J/K
So what is my point in this post? That there are ******** everywhere.....and some who unfortunately have their head up stuck up there.

wtf??? y u talking smack about ludes?? so what if they didnt make a prelude R, they did make a type S, type R are made for racing, lude are somewhat luxury,
just because u own a r doesnt mean u have the right to talk smack about ludes, now ur a Lude hater,

Oh here is that picture in larger form -- I dunno about you but I prefer the small version where you can't tell how nasty that hag is.
I certainly would not consider myself a TypeR "hater". Last year when I bought my new car to replace my 1993 Prelude VTEC, my two choices were the 2000 TypeR and 2000 Prelude Base.
The main reason I chose the Prelude over the ITR was because I percieved the Prelude as a better value. For the price of what I would have paid for a new ITR ($24500), I bought a new Prelude and had about $3500 left over to spend on modifications and upgrades. On top of that, begin to factor in the cost of insurance and I found that it would have cost me a whopping 66% MORE every year in premiums to insure a new ITR over the cost to insure a new Prelude. That adds up to several thousand dollars in savings over the life of ownership...
Is an ITR a better performer of the showroom floor? Sure, of course, it's a factory prepped race car for all intents. But I would argue that my Prelude is currently at least on par with a stock ITR at this point...
Anyway, that was my rational for choosing a Prelude over the ITR... Maybe that makes me an ITR hater...
But if i had it to do over again, I would not have bought either car. If I could do it again I would have just kept my 1993 Prelude VTEC and rebuilt the original motor and upgraded the suspension...
