Default turbo problem

i recently test drove a 92 prelude that already had a turbo installed in it. when i hit 4,000 RPMs it boosted as it was supposed to but then once i hit 5,000 RPMs the blow off valve went off and it quit boosting. i have heard a few people say that it was sucking to much air, but i don't think that's the problem. i was just wondering if anyone could help me out and figure out if its an easy fix or if its hard to fix.

blow off valve might be leaking all the charged air. if you're planning to buy it, my advice is never buy a custom boosted honda, you don't know what the previous owner did to it

Good Point. I have come to find that generally if you find a car that is being sold and still has the turbo there is a problem with it. if your going to buy a car with a turbo, or even Nitrous, it would be best to buy it from a close friend so that you know what teh car has been through.
