You should lower your compression if you want to run boost over 6-8psi. Although with great tuning and management you can run over that, I have heard of people running 9-12 psi. But to be safe and feel a little more at ease running double digit boost, block build up is recommended. An ideal compression is 9:1, anywhere from 8.4 to 9.5 is good(the lesser gives you more range to work with, the higher gives you better response in city driving and low or no boost times.

that is if your engine is not dying...

 

and with 9 psi...wont be so safe so if its not dying it will be. The most id go with is 8 if that
