Default Transmission problems

Im not very knowledgeable about transmissions and just needed some advice. Ive taken my car to the dealership about 4 times now trying to get a check engine light cleared: first misfiring, second misfiring, thrid they weren't quite sure and they cleared the codes and fourth O2 sensor this is all in about a 2mos period. well last time I went to pick up my car after it was finished they said reverse didnt work.and they just found out because they were trying to put it reverse to drive it around to me. They opened it up and they said it was because of normal wear. Now they want 1600 bucks more and Ive already spent 1700 with them. My car's reverse was workin just fine before i took it in and I just want it back the way I gave it to them. Any ideas? Thanks!

That can happen with prelude transmissions randomly.

Sometimes it will just stop happening, sometimes you can jam on it to get it back in. Sometimes it requires a teardown.

They already have it apart?

I say screw the dealership... find someone on HT or a local mechanic that can fix it. If you can get the install done cheap, you might be able to put a M2B4 LSD tranny in there for less than $1700.

My advice is to NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. There are plenty of places out there that can do a hell of a job for a lot less cash.
