Ok to start i have searched and read what i found, but this wasnt covered in anything i could find searching transmission. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference in performance or feel between the H22a JDM tranny a usdm h23 tranny on the h22a engine?

you suck at searching. and if you would have read the faqs you would have know they have different gear ratios. then you should read up on how different gear ratios affect driving.

I did read the faq and i did notice the different gear ratios. however, reading some facts on numbers cant tell you the difference in the feel of the drive just how the numbers roll out, so i was looking for someone with some experience with that set-up if they had any comments about it. Which you obviously are not. do you always try to boost your ego by posting on a forum?

the h23 has shorter gears aka your gonna shift more and faster from gear to gear. My h23 tranny revs at 4 grand at 125 km/h

oops, for some reason I thought he was asking about an f22 tranny :S. I was obviosly tired.(notice the post time) My typeo . Gears longest to shortest does go f22 - h23 - h22. like it does say in the FAQ's.

We already went over the fact that the numbers are in the FAQ. What i am looking for is some feeback on the difference in feel between the two not how the numbers come out for each one

the difference in the 2 is the h22 tranny would prob feel like its accelerating faster. Would be the obvious guess.... if you knew how gear ratios worked.

Ive had horrible luck with H23 trannies.....Although Im sure it can be argued for days. I am just sharing my personal experience. It seems like High Revving 200whp+ is the H23 enemy. Although, it is very possible that I got a couple of bad trannies. I just gave up and bought a New M2Y4(5g) tranny from Honda last year. I figure it'll be in my Prelude family for years to come......

number may not lie but
there may only be one
way to find out
that is
try them out your self
because i have a h23 tranny and it feel like the gears are short
but then i have a jdm h22 tranny in it feel short too but not
5th gear.
what i found out
is it only the 5th gear is longer on the h22
but if you have a h2b or euro-r tranny who need they trannys
thanks

why would you need feedback? if you knew what gear ratios meant and listened to my post, you would have know or researched it.

so what is meant by shorter or longer gears??? obviously the term is a little confusing but its the ratio transfered from your engine thru tranny to wheels. if the ratio is close to 1, then thats a 1:1 relationship from engine to ground. shorter gears are higher in number relative to longer gears having lower numbers.

and if you searched so well, how come when i clicked on

search -> archived posts -> h23 vs h22 tranny.........i came up with a WHOLE page of threads. like i said, you SUCK at searching and need to quit whining and figure out simple things for yourself. its not hard
