Default Timing the flywheel with the distributer

I used a timing gun to see where my timing is at at the flywheel. Well there are 3 markings. two slashes ingraved into the flywheel and then there is a 15 with a red line through it. Should I be lined up with the 15?

Yes, you align it at the 15 which should be in the center of the 2 other marks.

does the ecu adjust the timing anyways? I turned the distributer and the 15 moved, but it went right back up to the correct timing at 15... I don't get it?
