Default Throwing a 4ws cel - code 29

Howdy!
i just purchased a 92 4ws h23a prelude. i did a jumper test to find what code it had for the constant on 4ws light. it gave me a code 29, which is the main steering angle sensor system\ rear \ terminal hole 20

from what the book states items affected are the rear sub steering angle sensor, rear main angle sensor, the control unit itself, or the harness for the connector.

now should i just go ahead and test the voltage on the #20 hole (second from the top |clip up|) or should i go through all the rest of the diagnostics?
and by chance have any of you ever ran into this code? from what i gather it seems to more then likely be a bad control unit. as the 20 hole gives these two possible diagnoses:
it can basically be either the orange wire between the rear main steering angle sensor that is bad..
or the control unit itself is bad.
im really hoping that one of you has had a 4ws control unit die on you. and what code you got. and what you did to remedy it.
thanks-

wouldnt resoldiering those relays mostly help to solve a cel 62 though? or do those relays cracked solders affect other symptoms throwing many other cels?

The relay soder connections seem to be an issue on many 4WS Preludes. I would try this fix first. It is something that will most likely need to be done anyway.

i almost forgot to ask;
should i desolder the 10 points? or should i just reheat and resolder them?

You could completely desolder them and resolder them for the best connection. But you can just melt the solder that is there and add some more.

well i did it and it fixed it for the last 2 days...
then today i took a corner and the light came back on. now when i jumper it i get that same cel 29 that i was getting before and the cel 62 that others have had in the past. guh.... im at a loss on which way to go now. tommorrow i plan on taking the 4wscu out again and resoldering the connections once again to see it that turns the light off and actuates the 4ws.
the thing im having trouble figuring is this:
if it came on again going around a corner wouldnt this be a sign that the rear angle sensor is bad more then the 4ws control unit?
and since it worked after i did the resolder and now its not working again wow im so confused lol........
HELP
