Default For those with LSD

How do you guys launch your car with LSD? I cant seem to figure it out... I went to the track Sunday for the first time with LSD. Before i had LSD i would always just feather the clutch and would pull off mid to high 2.3 60ft. Now with LSD and 5 runs i wasnt able to get lower than a 2.5 60ft, shouldnt i be somewhere around low 2.3 even 2.2 60ft. Do i have to like rev the hell out of it or what.

I have a 95 JDM H22 with i/h/e pullies cam gears and vafc untuned. My first time i had a 2.7 60ft with mad hop and only got a 15.5 (yeah i know, its horrible). 2nd time though i got it down to 2.5 and ran a 15.1, and thats all the better i could do. I know if i could get it down to 2.2 - 2.3 i would run around mid 14's wouldnt you think? Any help would be great.

I left my time slips at home, and i spun off the line everytime. After the first run all the others were 2.5's... A couple 15.1's at around 91 - 92mph and my final run was a 15.2 but at 93.5mph, thats all i can remember at this time. I also do have a Fidanza flywheel and CM stage 3 clutch.

My first run however, when i ran the 15.5 was a little different. My 3rd gear cuts out at about 94 - 95mph and with being my first run i decided to keep it in 3rd till the end and actually hit the limiter a good couple hundred feet before the finish line, but the timeslip said it was only at 90mph

I got pretty much the same setup but i havent tracked my car yet. I thought your car should be hittin mid 14's for sure? What size rims are you on? And what are you launching at to be spinning like crazy. Easy on the gas cowboy.

But seriously, I dont really know how to launch with lsd. SHould you just launch the same as if it didnt have lsd? I always thought if you had lsd you could like drop it at high rpm's and still get nice launches. But thats just my newb *** and the fact that i dont ever race because my car is Slow!

I was riding on 17's, Kumho Supra 712s... Even before i had LSD when i had my USDM H22 with the same set-up, but it was tuned, i was hitting 14.7s 14.8s (which to me seems pretty bad for it being tuned) with 2.3 60ft times. Ive always feathered the clutch, i dont hold it at any certain rpm, its kind of a feel thing. Im wondering if it is easier to just dump the clutch at a certain rpm with LSD.

i have a h22a in my 92 accord with suspension work done and es inserts to help wheel hop. But anyways i also have lsd a kaaz clutch type i usually rev to like 3750 or so and feather the clutch till i feel just a slight spin on the tires a little chirp then i let it go. Oh yea and i also did burn outs. seemed to improve my 60' by a few 1/10. made my 60's go from 2.5 2.3 but then again i do have 15" with 195 all weather tires. i wish i had slicks or anything better at that. so basically pratice pratice if its 12am and no ones on the road rev it up at a red light and try to manipulate the clutch so its grabbing and going but not loosiing time due to spinnage. even the 1-2 shift chirp can rob you of .075 secs. i also have an h22a in my accord (90). i went to the track right after i got my swap done (october) and pulled horrible 60' times but 14.8 @ 93. that was with the motor BONE STOCK. i launched at 2 grand. i wouldnt even consider that launching. but, i would take off as if i was at a stoplight, and as soon as the tires (18") were turning with me off the clutch, FLOOR IT!!!! spun as soon as vtec crossed, and spun a sec or two in 2nd. then, bang, zoom to the moon with a 14.8 with 18's that totaled 40 lbs. a piece with tires.

When I went from my H23 to JDM H22 w/ LSD my 60's also went down but still managed 14.3 with a mid 2.3.

I've pulled a 2.1 with an open dif on street tires. Sounds like you're just into the gas a little too much. What are your suspension settings? Do you do a burnout?

i always slip the clutch and then hammer it. I always run faster times when the tires spin out a little and then hook up. All I can tell ya is it takes practice!

The best I can get with an open diff on 16" drag radials was a 2.2, 2.3 on street tires.

all i have for suspension is H&R Sport Springs (about 1 1/2'' drop)... I do kind of a semi burnout, just enough to get any loose pediments out, i eouldnt say it really warms up the tires any.

It was only my first time out and i know it takes practice.

When people tell me how to drive it doesnt work. Just take your car out and practice. Youll get it down sooner or later. Then driver and car become one. Sorry if I sound like some hippy guru hehe.
