obx lsd
i run a civic(d16z6) circle track on dirt.Alott of us weld our spider gears solid for posi.I was thinking of using a lsd intead this time around.I am not shure if the obx lsd would hold up to the constant torque it will be dealt.I am on a budget so cant afford quaffe.does any one have any horror stories or good stories.
And second question is would it even be worth running a lsd on dirt.will both wheels be spinning at same speed in turn just like they would be if it was welded.thus putting just the same ammount of torque and abuse on the drivetrain and shafts.Should i just save my money on the lsd and buy a spare trans and shafts.Lke i said its a circle dirt track car.wont be turning left then right and so on.

I've seen these guys run in my town its kinda fun to watch. I would say you could get away with just a phantom grip, and not have to deal with tearing to obx apart to fix a new product...obx=junk=proven. The way you guys smash eachother around, it seems like cheapest would be best... lsd= limted silp
edit: Actually after thinking about it wouldnt you just want to have booth wheels locked at all time seein' how you really dont have any traction? Thats why people just weld the diffs cuz that would be the cheapest and best for traction in mud/dirt. I say weld it and be done with it.

thanks guys.think i am going to weld it and save the benjis.i can buy aloot more go fast parts with it.and i will end up breaking shafts with it welded or a lsd eithor way.broke two last yr.and 1 the yr before.different car tho.
STAY AWAY FROM OBX!! 99% chance you're gonna get a piece of crap that is out of round and has ring bolt clearances, and then when you do get one, they won't return it, and if they do, they keep 30% as a re-stocking fee.
Avoid them like the plague. If you're gonna do an LSD, spend the money on an Mfactory diff. They're more $$ than OBX but cheaper than quaife. They are $650.

Says the man with a circle track car.
OBX LSD is rated to handle 500HP my friend had one in his h22a turbo setup hasn't failed him yet strong for 10k miles some off brand parts you can get lucky with the no name N1 imitation cat back exhaust for 90 bucks shipped (which is actually real stainless steel but heavy) sounds better than the expensive 500 dollar ones so its up to you and how hard your going to abuse it if you don't clutch dump you should be fine if your only going to be nailing 300 WHP at max boost i personally think your going to be fine

hey noob, do you understand the Quality Control issues with the D series OBX's?????
I installed 40+, no failures, but had one that wobbled alot. Aquafina had several that wobbled ALOT MORE!
Try returning one.....you get ripped off there too.
