Default suspension

im looking into getting shocks/springs for my 97 lude. ive searched and seen the whole koni yellow and ground control. but im not into auto X or anything. i just want a 1.7-2.0 drop for daily driving that will still be good but not too expensive. ive seen the neuspeed race springs drop 2.25/2.0 but dont know exactly how good they are or what shocks to get either. also whats a good camber kit? i just want to know what you guys would recommend. thanks

KYB shocks and dropzone or shunk 2 coilovers.

1.7 - 2.0" is a bit too much of a drop if you're daily driving it only, IMO. Get the Eibach ProKit -- 1.3" drop F/R. Ride is very nice with the Koni's.

I know of 4 or 5 people who got the Neuspeed race springs for their Preludes and they all said that they made the car ride really stiff- stiffer than they even expected it to be. Just about all of them run different brands of shocks, so that cancels the shocks out as the cause. I had heard some other import drivers at a show mentioning the same thing about the Neuspeeds a while back also, but I didn't really know what spring/shock combination they were running at the time, but apparently it is true. I believe the softer spring of the two that that Neuspeed makes is called the "Sport" spring; that one is said to have a better ride, but I don't know what the drop range is for those springs.

The Eibachs are a proven brand and I had the Pro-Kits for a couple of years- they firm up the ride a bit, but it wasn't even firm enough for my mother to complain...

I'm running the Kyb's and the neuspeeds, the ride was ok when they were new but the neuspeeds are too low for the KYB's so they have blown. KYB doesnt suggest any drop over 1inch or it voids the warranty. That and i bottom out over speed bumps which sucks.

IMO, Honda dont need to be lowered--if you have to, maybe an inch or so. You will ride on the bumpstops and the ride will really suck *** otherwise.

...speaking from much much experience.

Eibach Pro-Kit + Tokico Illuminas

Adjustable struts are the way to go. I couldn't be happier.

camber kit may/may not be necessary. My fronts look fine, but my rears are pitched in a little, so I'm putting on the Progress rear adjustable ball joint camber kit.

You'll really need to get the Koni's reguardless if you want to drive for more then a year.

So consider this:
I only replaced my struts with the koni's and used the lower mount. It lowered my car about .75", and it rides better then stock.

Personally my car is on the line of being too low for daily driving, but that truly depends on where you drive, and how good of a driver you are. I can get tons of places that would cause alot of cars to bottom out, but when you have softer springs, and then hit a bump at speed it does tend to scrape.

Just a thought. Heres a pic too:

sorry for the MASSIVE image.
