surface rust and what to do
i have a 92 lude 4ws no rust at all however.
i got rear ended and my fiberglass bumper pushed up against the quarter panel kinda under the tail light.
a small amount of paint chipped off the rear quarter panel and now bare metal is showing. i put touch up paint in the mean time. but the parts i couldn't get to already started to rust.
so what i've been told is to buy 180 grit sand paper, sand down the surface and the rust away, and put something over it to prevent it from rusting then just put touch up paint over it.
what is that stuff that i'm supposed to put over the bare metal to prevent it from rusting? primer? metal sealant? anyone have a link of something that i can go buy at autozone? thanks.

Technically, you're supposed to use epoxy primer to seal any bare metal. Regular primer is porus holding moisture from the air and getting sealed in when you spray the base/ clear. If you don't care about the rust coming back after a couple of years, go ahead with the regular primer.
