Can anyone give me some feedback on any ecu chips. Which is the best one to go for? Can anyone who has one let me know if there worth getting? or are there other better ways to increase horsepower.

 

Well while you can buy a Spoon, Mugen, Jun, etc. tuned ecu (ususally OBD1 mind you) you have to understand that these are tuned specifically for their test car. Whether it's a stock 98 EX or a highly modded 2000 Integra Type R it's still tuned precisely to make the most power on that application. That being said it would probably be a great investment to purchase one of these chips (you'll have to search for one that closely matches your setup). On the downside though is the fact that when you go to add/remove/change parts your going to stray away from that specific setup that the chip was tuned for and probably lose power and/or reliabiltiy. My advice would be to purchase a VAFC (if you have a VTEC) or some similar tuning tool or a Hondata if you have lots o $ and big HP goals. With these even if you change your setup you can just head back to the dyno and re-tune to adjust for your new parts. Sorry this was so long but I hope it helps.
