strut interchangability
Hey guys, this might seem dumb. I'm looking into springs/struts for my gf car. She has a 94 prelude. I see that sometimes on ebay they sell the setup for a 92-01 prelude. Sometimes these springs are only for a 92-96 prelude. Are the strut setups for all years interchangable? If so, are ones stiffer then others? Thanks ahead of time

Wrong. Both the struts and springs from any 4th or 5th gen Prelude will be interchangable.

that's odd, all the springs i look at have different part numbers between the 2....i wonder why they would do that if they are identical parts

IIRC, the Eibachs and Neuspeeds have the same part #....but that was a while back when I looked them up. I could of swore that everyone I saw had a listing for "92-01 Prelude", w/ the same part number for all years.
Even still, I've had both a 5th gen set of Koni's, a 4th gen set of Koni's, and a 4th gen set of Eibach's under my 4th gen; I've also seen a 5th gen w/ a set of 4th gen Koni's, and a 5th gen w/ a set of 4th gen Eibach's.
When I say "4th gen Koni's", I mean that the guy ordered the springs for his car which is a 4th gen Prelude, so he should have gotten the springs for that car if the numbers are different.
That's just MY experience, though...
Between all the cars, there was no measurable difference between the cars, and they all were installed the exact same without a hitch.
