Default Stripped

Was wondering if anyone has stripped out all of the rear interior? I have started by taking out both back seats and was kinda wondering what it looks like with all of the interior gone...including the trunk interior. If anyone has any pix...can you post them for me to look at? Thanks

buy an HF crx if you are that concerned about weight, the prelude is a big heavy car and that is what makes it so nice. Don't destroy it

IMO I wont be destroying the car...If I want the interior out then I will take it out. I was planning on stripping the interior and then when I get my car painted...Painting the bare metal the same color as the out side. I just wanted to see pix of someone else that has "RUINED" their Prelude. If I would have wanted YOUR opinion I would have asked "Hey, Would it be a good idea to strip the interior of my prelude?"

Hey, man, if i can find the power adapter to my camera, i will post some pics of the trunk stripped. Like i told you before, it has dynamat everywhere. You'll be surprise when you pull all the carpet - oh, I have the carpet for sale by the way (with the exception of the wheel cover. You'll have so much dirt and crud everywhere. Needs a nice cleaning.

cars without any interior in the back just look so cheap, trashy, ricer, stupid, stolen... in short, don't just leave it bare back there.

Token Blk Guy, If you can get pix...Please post them...I'd like to see how the painted black interior looks.

I'm not trying to be ghetto...I dont need a custom system in my car...If I wanted that I would have bought an SUV and put dub dueces on there and 3 12" JL Audios. I just dont have any use for the interior and I want to take it out, and paint it all. Just want to see pix of a car that has been COMPLETELY stripped out from behind the front seats...to the trunk!

calm down, ****-socket

I didn't mean look at the ******* picture...I meant read the write-up that I wrote about how to seal off the back seat and make it look good.

It's funny, you people wonder why I'm so ******* caustic. I'm trying to be helpful and you're being a putz.

Here you go Anthony, but before you look at the pictures, please bear in mind that it's still a WORK IN PROGRESS.

Basically I have stripped the entire car from the front seats back, and have also taken the door cards and carpet out of the front of the car. The only thing left is a pair of Sparco Pro 2000 seats with harnesses

I'm doing the same as your thinking. I've stripped the interior, and taken the paint back and re-primered the metal. I'll then be painting the interior either white (to match the exterior), or balck. I've also taken all the sound deadening out too.

Here's the first few pictures from when I started....

And here it is with some primer put down (not all finished yet though....

I thought the prelude was a luxury sport car.. not a metal bucket.. but ever thought about bed linear the whole thing.. And you can paint it any color.. well ive done it on a truck and a jeep atleast... gets rid of sound pretty nicely also. AutoZone has it, 5gal for like 90bux. Also it comes in spray cans. And it resists scratchs a hell of alot more than if you just prime and paint that bare metal. Altho that primerd picture doesnt look that bad if your going to strip her out.

Then agian I perfer my beuatifull interior.

I guess mine was a luxury sports car when I bought it. I also used to prefer my beautiful interior.

It's funny how times change.

My car has gone from a "luxury" sports car to a purposeful sports car. The way that the car is currently, is purposeful to me. Some people love it, and some people hate it. The way the car looks inside doesn't displease me, and I'd sooner take things out than put things in. The noise doesn't bother me either. It's loud, and a few things rattle like hell, but it's a noise I've come to subconciously ignore. And when I do chose to listen to it, I love it!

I don't HAVE to use my car on a daily basis, and I'm starting to use it a lot more at the circuits. The circuits I drive at are Formula 1 circuits, and circuits where the British Touring Car Championships are held.

I used to do things to my car because it looked "nice". I now do things to my car because it helps me on the circuit.

Yea id strip a car only for that purpose.. as long as it isnt a forced daily driven vehicle. Anyways to get rid of the noise go with the bed linear that I was talking about.. its poly something i forgot but its got shreaded rubber in it that forms a really nice shield, which is self insulating, Im sure you've seen it in the back of a pickup, the spray in bed linears that is. And its self primed for any color pretty much, the rubber acts as a really nice bonding agent for paint. Id do that if it were me.. plus it last forever and prevent rust.

With a white exterior Id mimic most car companys contrasts.. I dont see many white cars with black leather that I like that is. Id go with a color of a medium degree.. for say if you painted the interior a low gloss blue of some type the contrast would be good, But im thinking like a show car.. for you purpose might try offwhite so it looks like the interior is somewhat white but with a hint of greyish/blackish.. It would compliment the metal interior.
