Ok so here is my problem. My brother just left for the army and gave me his 1994 lude. The radio was stolen out of it and ever since then the tail lights, reverse lights and dash do not illuminate. I have checked the bulbs and fuses. Any ideas as to what might cause these three things to fail at once. HELP PLEASE! Any help is great...

how did "they" steal it? the harness for your radio is intertwined with other wires going various places all in one group under your center console. If they ripped it out or cut it out some of those wires might me shorted/nicked/broken etc. anyother noticable damage anywhere else? perhaps in the trunk?

 

They did cut it out. The trunk is fine. How would you suggest I go about finding the source of the problem.

Pull the onsole out and check the wiring harness's

 

So I pretty much have to take apart the whole dash then, right? to inspect each harness

 

maybe not.. just start with your centre counsol with your vents etc. most of your harness is tucked under where your radio would have sat, or even by your ashtray. this is going to be a pita to find, i forwarn you myfriend. electrical problems are quarky as they come. sometimes a bad ground, or sometimes its the feed. never really know. all you can do is trace from where your componet you want to test, to where ever the supply is. post more or pm me if you need more explanation

 

Ya I'm really going to tackle it on Friday. I figure if ther is juice going to the fuse box then it must be somewhere after the fuse box. I don't know that this is true but I guess its a good place to start.
