Well...when i shift into fifth my mid-range rpm's makes a loud whiney noise. It sounds somewhat like a airplane taking off. Its not so loud at low rpms, but when i pick up speed in fifth it grows louder. Someone told me i was probably low on tranny fluid. I dunno any ideas of what this noise is or could be?

if you had a 90 rx-7 id tell ya the rear was about to go but im not to sure about the front wheel drive cars. Have you noticed any type of extra greece anywhere underneath? and where is the sound coming from rear or front

the distributor can make a noise kind of like that

i noticed in 5th gear b4 mine went out. just an idea though

check you rtranny fluid too

so your tranny went? i might need to check in this....thats why i wanted people to reply earlier....and ill check my tranny fluid...cause i dont wont to replace my transmission or anything go
