Stock H23 w/ 40K miles. How much power can stock bottom end make on boost?
I'm contemplating boosting my prelude. It's 100% stock besides a filter kit. Stock probably has about 140whp. How much whp can I make with the stock bottom end if I go turbo? 300?

The consensus seems to be that H series can only sustain about 8lbs on stock internals before the ringlands go. A rough estimate for your engine would be 200-230whp. I would suggest searching as this topic has been covered a lot.

^^^ That is about right. I wouldn't go over 9 psi on a stock bottom end, and that is pushing it. It really all depends on your setup, but with a good tune you can expect about 220 WHP.

220whp, that's it?? I would have thought the H23 would put out way more than an LS motor. I got 225whp on a stock ls motor and I wasn't even close to pushing it. Damn, maybe I will leave this one stock
FaS4wS, it sucks when you're driving around all summer in a badass RX7 than winter comes along and you have to drive a 170hp car. I need something reliable, but I also want something that I can have at least some fun with.

as for boosting the stock bottom end... still arguments on everything, i dont remember his name you can look in the thread that is "forged pistons in frm block" (somthing like that) and on the last pages a guy with a turbo h22 cl posts saying he has been doing 15psi on a t3/t4 (dont know specs) all the time with forged piston for over 20,000 miles. And there have been a couple people that have pushed ~300whp on stock bottom end h22s, how long it will last who knows. I havnt looked into h23's but it should be about the same, 250whp i dont see being impossible.
