Default Starting problems

ok...So I thought i fixed this damn starting problem when the car is hot by buying a good main relay. So i got one off ebay (real one from actual prelude)...it seemed like it was working because i would turn off my car and turn it back on and it was start up...even after a long drive (it wouldnt start up after a long drive before because it was get hot so i had to wait if i wanted to start up again) anyways...after a month, the problem went away until TODAY...i took my gf to the bank and turned it off for a quick min, she came back out and i started up my car; and guess what...the needle jumped and fell all the way down shutting off the car. I was like wtf!!!?? this is just like how it was before!

now that its not the main relay because i got another one, its not the ignition switch because i've been through that and it was hell (got it replaced). People on other forums are saying it might be a distributor, ignition coil, or something else...what else can it be, i know it might also be the fuel pump?

Do you hear the fuel pump/injectors priming b4 you attempt to start the car? If so does the car have spark?

Was the main relay you got from Ebay brand new or used? Could be that someone resoldered the points and put it up for sale on Ebay.

Your problem still sounds like main relay to me.

the main relay was used...but it was working fine and then the problems starts up again. I told other ppl on a different forum that when i opened the distributor cap, i saw red dust and they said that's the problem. So ima try to get a new one...then clean the ignition coil...if all else fails get another main relay.

try a new main relay. a used one is prolly no better than your last one.
