Default Speed Sensor on H22. Please help!

Last night I was driving down the road and my speedometer went out. So this morning since I was already going to Honda to pick some parts up I had them look at it. They said my speed sensor was going bad and it would cost $260. Forget that... I can get a sensor off a 92-93 F22 accord and it's the exact same as the '95 Type S h22.

So my question is how many wires are going into that sensor. Is it two or three. I haven't had time to look since I had to get to work and I'm trying to go ahead and get the part from a friend at his shop. He needs to know so he can get me one. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The vehicle speed sensor is very easy to install. It is located on the transmission and has 2 lines going to it with 1 plug (2 wires i believe.) I think it is held on the transmission by 2 long 12mm bolts (could be 10mm).

I can scan the pages in my Honda manual for you if you need to see the complete step by step on how to replace it. Send me your email address.

You pretty much answered my question though. The most important part was knowing wether the sensor had two or three wires going into it. But that info on replacing it would be helpful b/c I don't know exactly which one the speed sensor is. There are a few plugs right there in that area and I think I'm looking at the right one but I'm not sure.

Thank you for the help!
