someone help
Alright, it's been 6 months since I've had my car, because it's been in the damn body shop.
But, my car now putters, like a freakin harley bike or something, it feels very sluggish and putters. It happens whenever I gas it, can this because it's been so long since I've driven it? Will it "drive itself out?" Could it be the fuel pump?
Also, let me know if anyone has that clear plastic part covering the gas and engine temp gauges for a 4th gen for sale-email kevinwu@uiuc.edu

Yeah the gas they sell in November is not the same as what they sell in June. Not to mention it's stale. Most Hondas have a drain plug on bottom of tank. Dump it out unless it's real close to empty, then fill it up and run it down real low before next fill up...3gdude
try checking and or changing the spark plugs first/ Also could try changing oil? If it needs it, and your car would run like this after 6 months, for about 20 minutes prolly at the most. BTW- why was your car in the body shop so long? Paint job, or accident?

I hate draining the gas tank.
I usually use some fuel stabalizer then just drive it out.
Change the plugs, fuel stabalizer, then fuel treatment on the next tank or two.
That should clear the problem right up.
And I've driven my car more than a few times after it's been sitting for a while.

OK, I went to test for emissions (because it's long overdue), and they told me that I'm running rich, which explains the bogginess of the engine, but how can bad gas or spark plugs make you run ridiculously rich? I've driven 100 miles now, and it's gotten a little bit better but not much at all...
Any ideas of what can cause a rich car? vacuum line? O2 sensor??
and I don't know where monticello is, I live in IL, where is Monticello?

Bad gas just doesn't burn efficiently, and can corrode or make spark plugs not spark the way it's supposed to.
I'd just recommend you drain the gas, or purchase some octane booster, replace your spark plugs and see what happens.
HTH.

one possible explanantion......
when i bought my wifes car i got it from a bank, it was a repo. any way i had it for about a month and she said it was driving "funny". well i took it hyundai (under warranty) and they said i had clogged injectors. they cleaned them and said too run fuel injector cleaner every once in a while. well a about a month later same problem, i ran fuel injector cleaner and after that the car wouldn't run at all.
long story short....
i checked the fuel injectors myself this time and it was clogged with a reddish-brown type dust. well i was stumped till i called the bank. they said it had sit in a warehouse for about a year, with only a qtr tank of gas. what happened is the walls of the gas tank had rusted from condensation over that year and once it started to be used again it started to run through the fuel system. the bank payed to replace the tank, so i was happy.

Alright, first of all....i was using the screenname vet_girl (my sister) because I couldn't log out, basically it was my car that just came back from the autobody shop, I'll post some pics in a couple of weeks, but long story short:
Today, as I was replacing my spark plugs, I found out that my number one cylinder, where the spark plug cap goes over the actual spark plug was completely emersed in water... it must have happened, when my hood was broken and it rained perhaps??
I sucked out the water, let it evaporate for a little, and replaced the plugs;
PURRRS like a kitten! Thanks for the help
