I'm still working on figuring out where i can find a set of Red Main bearings. We don't carry the Reds any more. If i cant find any I'm going to just grab a set of pink ones and see what clearance the plastigauge gives me.
Shawn (rosko) has my oil pump in his possession, hes going to clean up some of the scarring, as well as deburr the gears and use new Allen head hardware.
^Update: Im going to buy a new Oil Pump to be safe, Shawn found some pretty bad scarrs in the old one.
Also if i cant find a set of H23 rods I'm debating on having the crank offset ground to use B series rods. I want some of you gurus to give some input to this.
I'm going to be on vacation in germany till Jan 2nd so look forward to some updates after that since I will have some parts come in while im gone.

Re: And so my 89x95 Build Starts
Back from vacation boo!!! But at least i have some funds to continue this build. My new oilpump came today which is going to be shipped out to Rosko in 2 days. I also ordered the IB rods today, should be here in a few days.
I ordered 4 Pink bearings im going to pop them in journals 2 and 4 and lay the crank in and tq it down, measure clearance with plastigauge and see if im at the desired .0018"
or at least close, since pink is the thinnest bearing I can get from Honda.
We will go on from there.

I looked a little further into the Oring on the back of the block issue that some of you are having. My New pump did not come with it, but i was able to order it seperately. When i get it im going to see if it fits or not. Ill keep you posted.

Re: And so my 89x95 Build Starts
Well I can get all the part numbers from slhondaparts.com but those two orings just dont show up in the 5th gen catalog for some reason.
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...P-OIL+STRAINER
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...+BLOCK-OIL+PAN
The oil pump oring is wierd in that people who've ordered 4g and 5g oil pumps have received them without it installed, and that slot not machined properly.

WOW u dont realize how fast time flies till u update one of your posts from ages ago LOL
BUT the good news is this motor will finally see some running time.
I will be running a stock H22 head for now still cause I can not afford for CombustionContraption to port it for me.
The Skunk2 Pro2s i had in the OEM block b4 are also going to g nicely with this.
Rosko ran some numbers for me and since the pistons stick out .047 im gonna run a .084 Cometic Gasket which yields right around 12:1 CR still
I need to buy the headgasket and have Randy send my cams back as soon as I can afford to buy gears for em.
Hoping to have this up and running by IFO next month!

Sounds like a pretty solid way to live. Schools kickin my *** and funds are low cause I dont work much with it but other than that I still have enough to get a motor together slowly so I guess I cant complain lol
