Went to the machine shop today to check on the progress, Good news, all the scarring came out with the 89 overbore. This was after the 3rd hole was bored and had the first grit hone run through it. Thats why its so rough
block should be done tomorrow but i have to still wait on the arp main studs so they can do the line bore.

I have been debating back and forth if i want to O-ring the block or not. After talking to Nat I decided what the heck, its cheap insurance. Anyone else have any input on this?

You said head studs, he said main studs. It was my understanding that you do an align hone if the main studs are arp due to different torque specs over OEM. Am i missing something? Just making sure i understand all this because i am using arp headstuds in my build.

Was the block originally open or closed deck? The water jackets and area around the cylinders look unusual.
Looking at your list reminds me of a couple parts I'm not able to find. Is the main-cap-bridge/girdle oring/gasket the same between the 4g and 5g? Same with the oil pump oring. Both orings and gaskets aren't there in the 5g parts catalog, but present in the 4g's.

Well I can get all the part numbers from slhondaparts.com but those two orings just dont show up in the 5th gen catalog for some reason.

The oil pump oring is wierd in that people who've ordered 4g and 5g oil pumps have received them without it installed, and that slot not machined properly.

I test fitted the slugs today.
Enjoy
Clearly a snug fit.
The tops are loaded with nutrition.
I am tho a little worried about the piston to wall clearance on the lower part of the skirt.
LOL
