hahaha! it fell out one day while i was driving on the highway.....sad...it was a rather interesting experience...lots of strange noises..then i saw it fly out in my rearview mirror. i plan on hitting a junkyard, but it might be awhile...how bad is it if my filter is a little wet?

there is no such thing as a little wet! You should seriously get something to redirect water spray from puddles! Have you ever heard of hydro-lock? and actually, i hate to say but a ( 30$ dollar el-cheapo off of ebay) short ram intake chillin in the engiine bay might be better than the original box sucking water through the hole that used to connect to that box!

hope it helps! BE CAREFULL ABOUT THE HYDRO-LOCK!

define a little wet. you are taking a big risk by leaving the fenderwell off. i wouldnt drive it at all in wet weather without it.

your intake has to be fully submerged in water to get hydrolocked. you have a short-ram you have less of a problem than the CAI. you shouldnt worry much about hydro-locking, and if you have anymore questions about it. search , we've talked about it many times

your car is not going to hydrolock unless u drive into a damn 3ft deep puddle, and i can probly say you are only loosing performance with the resonator removed too...

I hydro-locked my motor and the filter wasnt even half way submerged.. So you are both wrong.

"halfway submerged"? i believe their is no such thing, if half of it is SUBMERGED then it is SUBMERGED

from observing other's cai on preludes, id say that the car has to be driven into a puddle that is AT LEAST a foot and a half deep, probly more...if you see a puddle that looks like a lake, just friggin avoid it...the bypass will null most of the gains of the damn intake in the first place

you could always get some ABS plastic and heat gun it to make a nice little "deflector" 2 inchs or so from the opening in the air box. This way more of the splashs and such won't directly reach the filter. use some self-tapping screws to mount it. You should be able to get the ABS at any craft place... maybe lowe's if you have them in your area, or at a circuit city.
