Default shiftknob/boot

kind of a weird question but to u guys with aftermarket *****...wut kinda boots r u usin? i dont like how the stock boot with the square top looks with my round aftermarket ****. does any1 have these generic ebay boots?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

if so how is the quality? i was thinkin of gettin an ek9 boot but id rather pay $12 for the ebay boot than $35 for the ek9 boot if they fit the same.

the generic ones aren't bad, but fitment is usually an issue...

will be moving to an ITR shiftboot soon since the red is starting to fade on the "mugen" one.

I don't know. It all depends on the total circumference of the rectangular portion of the shift boot (at the bottom). In my experience, I've found that the MOMO generic shift boots are nice because they are elasticized at the bottom of the boot. Try those. They're a little more money, but they're real leather and they hold up pretty well...

its really not that great. If you garage keep your car, then it will be ok. But i park my car outside and the sun puts a beating on the suede.

sort of a dumb question cuz i've never done it before, but how do you get the boot off? I assume theres a more elegant way then ripping it out..

i have one of these:

http://www.redlinegoods.com/

the leather is really nice. fitment is good, but as long as it's too "long" fitment isn't an issue.

i'm using a sparco universal **** with a rubber grommet and the boot. works well.

hard to explain, i guess i mean that if the boot is too puffy, you can just adjust the "puffiness" when you install it.

as far as how i got it to work with my **** it's very simple, but hard to explain.

if you can get the plastic ring (which is black) from a civic, you can use it with any boot you want, and it'll keep the boot from sagging if you use it with a rubber band...

anyway, it's all stuff you can figure out fairly simply.
